Reflection Questions

In what ways have you gotten better at this kind of work?
Photo 2 has really taught me a lot about using my camera settings to get better photos. Before I would just put it on auto and have it decide the aperture and shutter speeds, but after this semester I actually know what those do and how I can use them to my advantage.

In what ways do you think you need to improve?
One of the things I need to improve on is staying with my pictures until I get the perfect shot. There have been so many times that I have taken a photo and just moved on, then when I look back at it I find that I wanted a better angle or a different position of the shot. I tend to find that I just snap and go.

What did you learn about yourself this semester?
I have learned a lot about what kind of pictures I enjoy taking and which ones catch my fancy. I have found that I really enjoy nature photos and also photo manipulation. Before this year I knew that I enjoyed changing the colors around, but lately I have been editing things into funny pictures. Like the  movie posters I made with kai and eli's faces.

What did you find frustrating?
I had trouble with finding my motivation for some of the projects. The still live and light difference taught me things, but they didn't make me want to run out and take them. I find that as it gets into winter I don't really enjoy taking the pictures as much. I enjoy the high color bright skies that rant there in the winter.

What is one thing you want people to particularly notice about your pieces?
When I take pictures I want them to be high color, so I want people to notice the bright colors and contact of the pictures. I want people to see them and hopefully they can be something they haven't seen in that way so it stands out.

In what ways did you meet your standards?
On certain projects I feel like i did a great job, the pieces I took spoke to me and I enjoyed taking them. I feel like that enjoy meant can be shown. Where as some the pieces look kind of boring and like I didn't put as much effort into them.

What would you change if you had a chance to do this piece over again?
On some of my pieces I would to have love to do them in the spring, pretty flowers, bright skies. If I had done this class in the spring I feel like I would of enjoyed going outside to take the pics which would of shown in my work. When I'm having fun and enjoy where I am my work looks a lot better.

What is one goal you want to set for yourself next time?
If i could redo this class I would try to put more work into some of the projects. Its sad too look back at your photos and wish you had done a bit better. Also I would want to spend more time editing crazy pictures because I really enjoyed to do that.

Best of 2016

Colima Volcano, Mexico

Sergio Velasco Garcia

I would describe it as a volcano erupting at night and being struck by lightning
I really like how they exposed it, it is bright enough to see whats going on but they didn't go to long and make it look really bright
I think whoever took this photo did a really good job with it

Glacier National Park

COREY ARNOLD

This photo reminds me of swimming in the river at bend
They did a very good job with the angle in the photo. It makes the jump look bigger and stops the man from covering part of the mountain or trees
The photographer did a great job with this photo

Innsbruck, Austria

I would describe this photo as a man who seems to be skiing on the clouds over the city
The skier is close to you and the city and mountains are farther away
I would give the photographer a A, I think the only thing he could do to make it better would let us see more mountain but thats out of his control
